bio
I
grew up in a castle in Eastern Europe back in the 1700's. Ah,
sweet youth! Around 1863 I decided to stop bothering the local
villagers...stealing women and children and all that rot...and
devote more time to my music. Bored of the incredibly crappy
art scene in the Carpathian Mountains, I felt it was high time
to bail and head for new lands. So in the Summer of 1896 I snuck...snuck...is
that a word? Snuck? I SNEEKED aboard a ship bound for the New
World with some possesions and a few friends packed tightly
in a long, semi-rectangular wooden box. Er...yeah. So when the
ship finally arrived (minus the crew) at this totally 3rd rate
fishing village in New England (I mean, please!), I was still
bloody famished not to mention in terrible need of a thorough
de-lousing (ick) and some serious spa TLC if you know what I
mean (can you say "boat rash"?). We've all been there.
Over the next hundred years or so I just sort of flapped around,
roosting here and there for short periods of time. Always feeling
a little unwanted, you know. Finally I found the beautiful mountains
of Asheville, or they found me I guess. I've played with some
bands around here but I feel like I'm more of a one man act.
It seems most people I've worked with have cited, "You
suck" as a major reason for not wanting to play with me
for long. They were right, I realize now, but at least it was
more personal and less musical. These days I spend a lot of
time writing music, lyrics, and electronic beats but I also
collaborate from time to time with a few good friends who have
a lot in common with me...musically and otherwise. I'm just
beginning to perform again in live settings around town and
am hoping to develop a more positive reputation...as a songwriter,
anyway. That's about all. Oh, and I have some really impressive
looking hounds who lurk about my property here so if you want
to come visit, call first. I love guests. Particularly dinner
guests.
All my best,
Doss |
